restorative

Brightworks Dentistry provides comprehensive restorative dentistry for patients who suffer from common oral health problems. These techniques can overlap with cosmetic dentistry procedures as modern restorations are designed to look and feel natural or improve one’s existing appearance. Restorative dentistry procedures are common and involve the diagnosis and treatment of conditions effecting the teeth, gums, jaw and face.

Metal-free fillings

Metal free fillings, also called composite resin fillings. They are tooth colored and bio-compatible. Most people don’t want metal in their mouths anymore because of the appearance and fear of the unknown. Metal fillings also known as amalgam fillings can expand over time with water and eventually crack teeth which is another reason why they are not used as much anymore.

Porcelain crowns

Crowns are used to cover damaged, cracked, chipped teeth, or to generally restore teeth. When bonded into place, they cup over the portion of a tooth which lies at and above the gum line. Brightworks Dentistry will match the color of your teeth to give you a natural look and feel.

Porcelain fillings, veneers and bridges

The greatest benefits of using porcelain fillings is the natural appearance of the repaired tooth and well as the strength and durability. Whether used for inlays, onlays, crowns, implants, veneers, repaired teeth look indistinguishable from healthy teeth thanks to the porcelain filling material coloring process.

Many patients are so happy with the appearance of their treated teeth that they have all their old fillings removed and replaced with porcelain fillings.

Dental Implant porcelain crowns

Dental implants are used to replace teeth after tooth loss. At Brightworks, we recommend dental implants for missing teeth. The process involves seeing dental specialist like a periodontist or oral surgron. The surgeon will insert a small titanium screw into the jaw at the site of the missing tooth, which serves as the support for a crown. These implants are almost indistinguishable from the surrounding natural teeth. Once the bone and supporting tissue fuse to the implant (which can take 3-4 months time),  a porcelain crown is then permanently secured into place.

Dentures and partials

Dentures are a common restorative device used to replace missing teeth. They can also be used in mouths where several teeth need to be replaced. These types of dentures are called partials and are also a popular alternative to those who wish to conserve existing healthy teeth. Dentures allow for the ability to chew and bite properly, and prevent a sagging facial appearance.
